UFOs are calling me

Afternoon everyone. I hope everyone has seen more of today than I have. But then again I was up all night so I just had a 4 hour kip and am now ready to get into my sewing room.
I received my swap partner for the Quilting Block Swap Australia group and can't make up my mind what block to do - decisions, decisions! I thought this would be easy - after all there are only about a million things I could do - but it is my first time so I want to get it right.
I am also going to make a set of 6 blocks for the Penny Pincher Pastel Card Trick swap and have just put a pile of fabrics in the washing machine. I really need to get into the habit of washing my fabrics as soon as I bring them home!
I have been literally agonising over making these blocks to swap because I want to be sure that the person who gets them loves them and I am always afraid that my colour choices won't be suitable. I guess all I can do is make blocks that I would like to keep for myself and hope for the best!
As soon as the fabrics are washed and ironed I will be cutting out the card trick blocks because I haven't yet decided on fabrics for my single block swap.
Well as I have already reported I have sorted out all of my UFO's (or PHD's as someone else called them - Project Half Done). Saying I have a couple of PHD's does sound so much more intellectual, doesn't it? It is funny how sorting them out has rekindled my enthusiasm for some of them, if not all. The Bento Box quilt that I have started is going to do my head in. I don't know if anyone has checked out these blocks on my Flickr link, but I absolutely loved the fabric but sewed most of the blocks up the wrong way! Oh to unpick or not to unpick!!! I am sure I will have to in the end because it drives me crazy looking at them and I know I won't use the quilt if I am not happy with it and I most definitely couldn't give something away that I wouldn't want myself.
I am really looking forward to catching up with the ladies from my sewing group tomorrow night. We have had a short break over Christmas and last year for me was extremely busy as I started a new job and it took me a while to get settled in. This meant that I wasn't always feeling energetic enough to go sewing so I have made a promise to myself that this year Tuesday nights are sacrosanct! I don't have any excuse for not going because my good friend Maralyne feeds me every Tuesday night and I drive us to sewing - a pretty good deal I reckon.
I have found out today that my Mum is moving back to Perth from Queensland within the next 2 weeks and will be living with me until and if she can find a suitable place of her own. I honestly can't see her moving into a new place by herself now as she is 75 and not in the best of health but we live half an hour from the main town and we don't have public transport and she wants to be closer to shops and things, so we will have to wait and see what happens. Mum had been in a sewing group when she first moved to Queensland which was great for her as she had not sewed since she had a major stroke more than 30 years ago. She made me a gorgeous tropical themed quilt which hangs in pride of place in my sewing room (I have uploaded an image)so maybe she will come along to our sewing group when she moves back. Again we will have to wait and see.
Well the washing machine has finished and I have some card trick blocks calling for my attention, so until next time keep safe and happy quilting.
